Home decorating ideas. After my spontaneous DIY project last week which resulted in a ‘brand new’ table, I realized that the remainder of my living room/office needs to be spruced up. So I decided to pay a visit to my very favourite interior design/all sorts of fabulous treasures store, Da Vinici’s Home in West Vancouver. This is one of those places where I could happily bring my suitcase and move right in. Or buy one of everything and fill my space with beautiful things. Whenever I’m in need of brilliant home decorating ideas this is my go to place.
This is also my go to place for gifts. When I’m in need of a unique piece for that friend who has everything, I can always find something they will cherish. Who isn’t in desperate need of a vintage magnifying glass, or a book on decorating?
Over the years I’ve also purchased many wonderful pieces for myself, which have seamlessly integrated themselves into my home. As a result, anytime that I’m looking for a little bit of home style or ‘me’ style, Da Vinci’s is my first stop.
Boxes. Love them. I’m not sure why but maybe because fundamentally they are like bags? I don’t know but I’m of the belief that you can never have enough storage. For me, a lovely box on a table is the equivalent to having a jewel atop a piece of jewelry. It’s like the crowning touch to a perfect scene. As an added plus, there can be wonderful discoveries hidden inside.
Impeccably stocked, they also carry many pieces by Michael Aram who has to be one of my favourite designers. His creations have an organic feel and are truly works of art. I already have a beautiful leaf shaped vase at home and now I’m eyeing this bowl. It would be the perfect centerpiece on my dining room table. I can already picture it filled with fresh fruit or overflowing with flowers.
What I love most about this boutique is that not only can I find the perfect accessories for my home, but I can also find wonderfully scented soaps and candles, beautiful and unique jewelry and stunning bags.
I am so excited to share all these wonderful things with you in the very near future!

This would quite a tempting place! The atmosphere is almost seductive. I know I would love a vintage magnifying glass. Those are the type of gifts that I would love to get from anyone!
